TEAM UP with TTI to advocate for victims of trauma

Advocacy around trauma treatment and trauma-informed practice comprises our third strategic priority at TTI - the A in our TEAM UP acronym and the focus of the third week of our Crowdfunder campaign.

Through this objective, we listen to victims of collective violence, speak up about the prevalence of trauma worldwide and increase awareness for the public, organisations, legal systems and funding bodies to ultimately drive change and improve trauma-informed care around the world.

We want to live in a world where victims of trauma are listened to, trusted and supported to be advocates for their own cause as experts on their own experience.

At TTI, this starts with advocating for trauma-informed practice in organisations working with victims of trauma and/or with traumatic material in their work upholding human rights. We support our partner organisations to actively embed trauma-informed services and commit to trauma-informed principles in their service delivery.

In 2024, we want to expand this and engage funding bodies and donors to increase awareness of what it means to be trauma-informed so that they recognise the need to and fund trauma-informed practice in giving strategies.

We want to influence decision-making, systems and policy, in the UK and internationally, using our expertise in trauma treatment to ensure services working victims of collective violence are client-centred and trauma-informed.
